Mini Headphone Amplifier for Guitar - "Clean"

As a guitarist, you know you need to practice regularly to hone your skills and learn new songs. However, you can't always break out the amps and crank up the volume. For those times when quiet is required, you can both practice and hear the amplified output from your instrument using this Mini Headphone Amplifier for Guitar from Monoprice!

As the perfect solution to practice your musicianship, this amplifier provides clean, undistorted amplification to the output of instrument level devices, such as electric guitars and bass guitars. It features a 1/4" TS plug, which plugs directly into your instrument's output. It is powered by two AAA batteries (not included) and has a 3.5mm TRS output for listening with headphones.

An additional 3.5mm TRS auxilliary input is provided for connecting another audio source, such as an mp3 player. The audio from the Aux jack is mixed with the audio from the guitar so you can play along to your favorite songs.

This amplifier is designed to produce a "Clean" sound, which is ideal for learning a new song and hearing the raw tonal differences between the different pickups, uncolored by overdrive or other effects. The amplifier includes analog Gain, Tone, and Volume controls.

    Great value
Can't beat the price for an amplifier that really works!

PROS: Works as advertised. Nice clean sound. Great for practicing. I will buy another one with a different sound.

    CONS: None.

    Great Practice Tool
    See "Pros".

PROS: This device is my sole practice tool. The sound quality is perfect, it doesn't disturb anybody, and with the aux input, I can plug it right into my smartphone if I need to play along to a song or click track. Any pro musician should have this. It replaced my Pandora and it cost one tenth of the price.

    CONS: None.

PROS: The headphone amp worked fine. It's as good as any I've played.

CONS: A touch on the flimsy side. However with proper care it will work out great.

Cheap way to play guitar through headphones, nice product!
This gadget is a must-have if you have a teenager that likes to fill your house with loud guitar music. Confine all that noise to a pair of headphones for under $25? Yes please! It fits right into the amp port on a guitar and doesn't interfere with the strumming area at all. There are three controls (gain, tone, and volume) and an on/off switch. I haven't played with the aux in port, but I assume it works as advertised.

PROS: Cheap, clever way to play guitar through headphones without having to use a large amp

CONS: None yet, product is awesome!

    Just fine
Decent clean sound. Easy to use.

Has a "drive" knob that wasn't advertised so you can get some overdrive distortion if you want it. I don't and don't use it. It was hard to find an amp like this that just delivered a clean sound so I'm happy to find it.

    PROS: Works fine, as advertised

    CONS: None

    Nice Practice Amp
Bought my first electric guitar from Monoprice and needed a practice amp. Nice for practice with headphones. (Of course, I use Monoprice headphones with this.)

    Awesome!
All pros....Works better than expected....I can boost the volume to get the sounds I want but no one else hears it. It's almost better than my Fender Amp...almost!
No cons. I paid about $20 for something that works like a charm

Way better than I expected with 3 controls for volume and sound....really KOOL!

PROS: All pros....Works better than expected....I can boost the volume to get the sounds I want but no one else hears it. It's almost better than my Fender Amp...almost!

CONS: No cons. I paid about $20 for something that works like a charm

    Great sound!
I can play guitar with my headphone easily. The sound is like I expect for this kind of device. It's a good clean. You may heard crack noise or buzz sometime but when adjust well there's no problem.

    PROS: good clean sound

    easy adjustments

CONS: crack or buzz noise somethime

    A nice little package
Really think I got my monies worth. I would gladly pay a little more to have an addition for distortion, or over drive instead of having to buy another whole unit.

PROS: A nice and compact amplifier with a crisp clean sound. Three sweet POTs on top to adjust as needed. Enough space in the front panel to allow for customization.

CONS: I feel its a bit too exposed. When removing the battery cover you can see the PCB board, so a bad battery can cause damage. Same with the POTs, very open to allow for dust build up and the potential to gunk up the wheels.
