Large screen TV? Check. Xbox 360 gaming console? Check. Kinect motion sensor for hands-free gaming action? Check. A way to mount the Kinect camera at the optimum distance and height for a great gaming experience? That is why you need this stand!
For the optimum gaming experience, the Microsoft Kinect camera should be located about 6 feet (2 meters) from your location. However, if you put the camera on your TV stand, you will have to be too close to your large-screen TV. This stand lets you place the camera at the perfect distance from you, while you stand (and jump around) at the perfect distance from the TV screen.
The stand is made of durable plastic and mounts the camera at a fixed 24.5” height above the floor. The solid, tripod base has rubber feet that keep it from slipping and sliding around on non-carpeted floors, yet is wide enough for stable placement on even the thickest of shag carpeting.
The two pieces of the vertical rod lock into each other and the base with twist locking lugs, allowing for quick and easy assembly/disassembly. The head of the unit screws into the top of the vertical rod and the Kinect camera locks into place on the head unit with a pair of spring-loaded clips. A small clip on the lower half of the rod keeps the Kinect’s data cord in place.
The entire assembly weighs about a pound and has a satin, piano-black finish, with matte-black accent stripes on the stand.
