Bluetooth® Enabled Glasses for Samsung 3D Displays

Get the 3D theater experience at home with a Samsung 3DTV and these 3D glasses from Monoprice!

So far, Active Shutter 3D technology produces the best quality 3D images. However, it usually comes with a steep price when you factor in the cost of glasses for the whole family. Now you can enjoy the best quality 3D for the entire family with Monoprice Bluetooth® 3D Active Shutter glasses for Samsung D Series 3D displays!

These glasses are intended for use with Samsung 3DTVs which use Bluetooth technology. They are powered by a single CR2032 battery cell (included), which will power the glasses for up to 150 hours of use!

Each pair comes with a storage pouch and cleaning cloth, to help keep the glasses in optimum condition at all times. They weigh only 1.7 ounces and feature a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

Note: These glasses use Bluetooth signals to communicate with the TV. The first versions of the Samsung 3D TVs used IR (infrared) to communicate with the TV. These glasses will only work with the newer Samsung Bluetooth 3D TVs. Please check your TV's user's manual to ensure that it uses Bluetooth for the 3D glasses before purchasing these glasses!

Better than Samsung

Pros: 3D is better than the glasses that come with the TV
easy to pair

Cons: none

The glasses are better than what comes with the Samsung TV by far. The Samsung glasses are flimsy, uncomfortable and dim. These Monoprice glasses are sturdy, comfortable and the 3D is very bright and crisp. Even the higher end Samsung glasses are higher prices but not as sturdy. I also like the fact that these glasses block out your peripheral vision so you get more of a movie theater experience.

Pros: Much more reliable and easier to use than the Samsung rechargeable glasses. No recharging needed.
They work!

Cons: Replaceable battery. Heavier

I am disgusted with the Samsung brand 3D glasses. I've had 6 sets including 2 I've returned. Some times they charge sometimes not. Even if they charge they often don't work.
The monoprice glasses are much better at about 1/2 the price. They sync with the TV and turn off automatically when the 3D stops. They provide the same quality of 3D image as the Samsung glasses at 1/10 the hassle.

Better than the ones that came from Samsung

These glasses are more comfortable than the glasses that came with my Samsung TV. The weight it seems, is more evenly distributed from the nose to ears. As well, I like the fact they are bigger frammed on the sides, which ends up blocking the distracting environment on either side of the viewer.

Had hoped they worked with Panasonic 2012 plasmas - they don't

Pros: Comfortable if you're not wearing glasses
Includes cleaning cloth and protective sack

Cons: Not usable with glasses
Somewhat ugly

I know that these glasses say they are for 2012 Samsung TVs, but I knew that the 2012 Panasonic 3D plasmas used the same "Full HD 3D" spec for glasses as the Samsungs, and that many Panasonic owners buy the Samsung glasses. So I was curious to see if these would work with my 2012 Panasonic VT50 plasma set.

At first it looked as if they did - they do pair with the TV and, looking through the glasses the "double image" you get resolves to a single one. But what I soon found out was that I was seeing only the image for the left eye - through the right lens I just got a blank image (not dark, just a light gray screen on a 3D test display.) Oh well. I am NOT using this incompatibility in my rating.

Ignoring the above, the Monoprice glasses are rather large and clunky looking, with a bright blue frame. They are comfortable to wear if you're NOT wearing glasses, but if you are, they can't sit close enough to the lenses (at least not on me), and I found that my glasses tended to hit the power button on the 3D glasses!

It's nice that a cleaning cloth and microfiber protective sack is included. The glasses run off a coin cell battery that is easily replaced.
