    Great Gang Plate

Pros: Great connections, very easy to install (except the size being a little smaller than standard so you have to be careful), looks great and professional. Can switch out individual gangs if technology changes or need something different.
    Definitely would buy again.

Cons: no install instructions to discuss mounting options or notification anyway to ensure your mounting bracket/box is correct size.

Very good gang plate, great quality connections LOVE the binding posts not just allowing banana plugs but open on both front and back. I agree with folks on the mounting, it is a little smaller plate than a wall plate (i think all these type plates might be) so you can't have huge electrical box. I ended up ordering the 3 gang "Mounting bracket" (for 'existing construction' - goes into drywall and is open on the back for easy access).
ALSO - i think some folks that posted used the long screws for the MAIN top cover plate, which i did at first too. I ended up putting those over the actual 3 individual gangs FIRST in the box (different holes), then you slide on the top plate and use the smaller screws there on the top cover. Fit perfectly then, but yes, confusing.

3-gang 7.1 Surround Sound Distribution Wallplate Mounting

    Pros: Nice design & appearance,

Cons: Hard to find Nema enclosure to fit it.

Bought this for my home installation originally done by a semi-pro who didn't allow any slack in speaker wires he installed. As noted under "Cons" finding an enclosure for this plate proved to be difficult. Although I would have much preferred a plastic box I wasn't able to find one. Did finally find an aluminum box at HomeDepot.com (3-Gang Weatherproof Deep Box with Seven 3/4 in. Outlets Model 203638238 4 threaded plastic knock-out plugs are included). This box will work cleanly with slight shortening of the six longer mounting screws (included with the box). Used two right angle flex metal conduit connectors - mine box is mounted out of sight in the back of a cabinet.

Doesn't fit standard 3-gang wall mount

Pros: Looks great. Makes connections easy.

Cons: Doesn't fit standard 3-gang wall plate. Easy for main screws to "strip" the plastic of the plate.

this is the 2nd time I'm purchased this item, and both times, the wall plate doesn't cover / fit a standard 3-gang mounting bracket. It will screw into the top holes, but the bottom holes are then about 1/2" beyond the holes in the mounting bracket.

bottom screws end up going directly into the wall, and are slightly less secure than going into the plate.

Also, be careful when tightening the main screws in the plate. It is easy to overtighten and have the screws go right through the plate. Had to back them out to make sure the plate didn't slip off the back.

    Pros: - Has screw-down/banana plugs
    - Has subwoofer jack
    - Has HDMI jack

Cons: - Screws to mount the individual sections to the low voltage plate are WAY too long.
    - Needs to have an optical jack as well in the empty spot

Overall this plate was easy to install. It had everything I needed except the optical jack. So I bought a keystone optical jack and removed it from the holder, then drilled a hole in the empty section of the plate and glued it in. Now I have everything I need in this set.

    Looks nice and works

Pros: A far better alternative to having a host of different speaker plates to connect your surround sound. Looks better than just running wires through a hole in the wall. It's also really nice that each of the speaker plugs is labeled. Makes it far easier to keep track once you've buttoned everything up and are plugging your receiver into it.

Cons: I wish the front of the item was cleaner and didn't have the black outline. None of my other speaker plates have this and I just don't like it.

It would also be nice if the plugs used swapable keystone jacks instead of permanent plugs. I'd like to be able to had a network jack to this, but instead, I have to cut another hole in my wall and but another gang box, plate, and jack.

If you want a way to hook your sound system up that looks clean and professional, this is it. My biggest complaint is the black line that runs around the outside of the plate, but most of us are going to hide this behind an entertainment center anyway. You can't beat this, especially the price.
