Compact Cube Universal Travel Adaptor - Black

The Compact Cube Universal Travel Adaptor from Monoprice ensures that you can plug any device into any power socket.

This is a blade adaptor in that it allows you to adapt the plug blades of any device to that of the local power wall socket. The face of the adaptor accommodates two- and three-bladed power plugs from the US, UK, EU, Australia, and China. The opposite end has four sets of plug blades corresponding to the four different accepted types (Australia and China use the same plug design). Simply push forward on one of the slides to extend the appropriate plug for the wall socket.

This adapter is not UL certified because UL will not certify devices with international power plugs. However, it is CE certified, which is the EU equivalent of a UL certificate. The adaptor is rated for 8 amps and can handle 830 watts of power (at 110 VAC) or 1750 watts (at 230 VAC).

This adaptor will work with the following plug/socket types:

    • NEMA 1-15 (US)
    • CEE 7/16 Europlug (EU)
    • BS 1363 (UK)
    • AS/NZS 3112 (Australia, New Zealand, China)

Note that this adaptor does not convert voltage levels. It simply adapts the plug blades of one type to that of another type.

Warning: Do not use with devices requiring a ground/earth connection. Unplug the adaptor when not in use.

    Efficient and Small
This worked well for me on a trip through England, Scotland, and France.
No issues and no blow outs. Did a great job helping me charge my battery pack/camera/iPhone/iPad.

Only issue was holding the plug sliders out when using it with some tight plugs in the UK. Stellar product though.

    PROS: Small compact size
    Works world wide

CONS: Sliding resistance could be a touch stronger

Great product at a cheap price!
I would recommend this product to anyone that is going overseas for a while. They are durable, and work with laptop chargers, European hair dryers that do not fit in the regular European sockets, etc.

PROS: Works with pretty much anything. Not too flimsy, stays in 80% of the time. Lasted me 1 month, I bought 4 of them. Life-savers.

CONS: easily pulled out of the wall, and the adapter retracts sometimes if you try to plug it in too fast. Kind of bulky, so if you buy a few they start taking up a tiny share of luggage space.

    Working well
Very happy with this purchase - as with everything else on Monoprice. It's bigger than the cheapo adapters I've used before, but it's very flexible and I haven't found a plug/socket combination it couldn't handle. Feels well built.

Fits most but not all outlets
Bought the adaptor for travel to South Korea. The correct plug adaptor is included but cant be used because outlets here (and in other countries that use a similar design) are recessed, meaning that you need a narrower adaptor to fit. The adaptor's cube design makes it too large to fit into the outlets. The adaptor should either have a longer plug or include an additional adaptor to fit into recessed outlets.

    PROS: Covers most international plugs

CONS: Adaptor cube design too large to fit into recessed outlet designs in many countries.

Great item but doens't work for all
I don't travel to certain countries more than once but I wanted something that would work in whichever country I go so I opted for this item. My first use was in Thailand and it fit every outlet I tried using. My second use was in the Philippines and I had issues with some outlets due to the depth of the socket. The item itself performed as it should but I kinda figured I might run into a compatibility issue with some outlets, so I was ok with that. The only thing I might suggest is to make it a little longer so it wouldn't have this issue. That might affect the portability of it but at least it wouldn't have that issues.

PROS: Worked in all the outlets I tried (that it fit into)

CONS: Didn't work with some recessed outlets (prongs/carriage not long enough)

    Sweden
Took with us on recent trip to Sweden (220V)
All our portable electronics supported universal voltage (Nintendo DS being the only exception) so it was very simple & convenient.

    PROS: Simple, Robust, Good price.

CONS: Size, lack of USB port at the time (USB-version now available)

    Great Travel Converter plug, but...
Got a pair of these converters for a trip to the UK and they worked really well. Small, fairly compact compared to other ones I saw, but I still there is room to shrink these down a bit. Either way, I had no issues, but I did see another converter plug that had a pair of USB's connections on it and I would love to see that on these Monoprice models.

    PROS: size
    good fit
    Prongs are strong

    CONS: Could be smaller.

    U.K. Pins Jammed
I purchased two of these for a trip to England. The U.K. pins jammed on the first use on one of the adaptors. The U.K. pins jammed after just a few uses on the second adaptor.
