    Caliber In Ceiling Speakers 5.25 Inch Fiber 2-Way (pair)

    Monoprice brings custom in-wall speakers to new levels of afforability with our line of Monoprice Brand Premium in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. These new high fidelity units deliver the high quality craftsmanship and construction you've come to expect from Monoprice brand products at a fraction of what you would expect to pay for them retail.

    In-wall and in-ceiling speakers allow you to expand your listening environment throughout your entire home as well as remove the clutter of giant box speakers giving you back your living space. In either case it's a win-win situation for those who desire high fidelity and those who put emphasis on decor.

    DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber cones are light weight yet extremely rigid providing very precise audio with minimal distortion normally caused by cone flex. Our Kevlar® speakers are matched with an equally precise silk membrane dome tweeter made of titanium fiber thread and a high quality crossover network to ensure high fidelity and low distortion. The lower distortion levels allow the speaker to be driven harder and handle higher peak power levels. The main benefit our Kevlar® speakers are the clarity and fidelity at which they produce audio.

    Features:

    • Light and rigid, well balanced, yellow woven Kevlar® cone woofers for distortion free reproduction
    • Oversized magnets for more impactful bass
    • Precision titanium silk membrane dome tweeters for sweeter highs and pure sonic clarity
    • Pivoting tweeters allow you to point the accoustics to the prime listening position for a more accurate and immersive sonic experience
    • Adjustable crossover switch allows you to match the speakers to the sonic characteristics of your listening environment and the location in which you place them
    • 50W nomimal and 100W maximum power handling capacity ensures that these drivers won't be overdriven or easily blown out
    • 8 ohms standard impediance ensure they can be safely driven by even the most modest home theater recievers

    Order now.
    Great sounding speaker. I am using them for surround sound speakers. I put them in my ceiling. I know not exactly the correct placement for surround speakers but they sound great, and the surround sound effects on my 5.1 system sound better than ever. They are very easy to install inside the wall too.

    I have these set up as my rear surrounds as there's nowhere on floor or walls to place speakers in this small odd shaped room. The wife was worried when she saw holes in the ceiling but is really happy with how the speakers look now. I have 6035's for the fronts, and 6317 center channel. The Onkyo receiver calibrated the speakers and they all sound great. Less clutter in the room!! No ugly wires ! Didn't need to spend more for the higher powered ones in this application.

    PROS: -easy install
    -low price
    -sound decent

    CONS: -none

    Excellent quality and price. I missed the "per pair" pricing note so ordered too many. Monoprice kindly took my return. Kudos to Monoprice!

    I'm in the process of building a custom home and one of the big projects on my plate has been to handle the A/V portion of the home. Since this is my dream home, I wanted to make sure I thought through every decision and weighed the pros and cons of the components I chose. For in-ceiling speakers, I had a lot of opinions from others that I should opt for high-end name brand speakers. In general, these speakers were between $100-$300 a pair. The Monoprice versions were $42/pair.

    I just finished the install last week and tested each room - 11 pair total - by hooking up my Sonos amp. I was really blown away. For the cost associated, I can't believe it ended up sounding as good as it did. For a system like mine, where I'll generally have several pair contributing to an overall whole home sound, they are amazing.

    Overall, I couldn't be happier. I've got 11 pair running around the house and all for less than $500. Can't beat it.

    PROS: * Inexpensive
    * Easy to install
    * Very good sound

    CONS: * None

    Great Quality
    These speakers were at least 3x cheaper than anything in the big box stores and work just as well or better! Put 4 pairs of speakers in the ceiling of a complete home renovation. They work great!

    ***Excellent Speakers***
    My wife and I had purchased a house two years ago that had a unfinished basement. I built the basement with the intentions of building the utlimate man cave. I installed two front, two ceiling, two back and the center channel speaker to a 7.1 Sony reciever.(All monoprice sreakers) Before playing any movies I tested them to see how much power they can handle by cranking up the tunes. I had the reciever only have way up and the speakers sounded great, so I decided to crank them up a little more and they were able to handle the power with very little disortion. Finally I decided to see what movies would sound like and I was BLOWN AWAY!! The clarity was amazing!! Giving my basement the home theater sound I was looking for. Before purchasing these speakers I was going to purchase a set of JBL in wall speakers and I'm so glad I didn't. The JBL speakers were 3 times more expensive!!. I'm 100% pleased with these speakers and would recommend them to anyone looking for great sounding in wall speakers at a amazing price.

    Excellent for the Electronically Inclined
    I absolutely love these speakers! I got them as a Christmas present to install in my basement's tile ceiling. Setup was quite easy I didn't have to deal with tough materials or insulation, of course, but nevertheless I had expected more of a challenge. The hardest part was at the end of the installation: after I had the speakers attached to the tiles and connected the wires to them, the wires kept falling out when I was lifting the tiles back to their place! Of course, only a little patience was needed, but it was quite annoying at the time.
    I'm wouldn't call myself an audiophile, but I am an advanced musician, and I never really had complaints. I was able to specify right- and left-side balances from my computer (connected via a cheap amp, of course), and I heard no cracking or distortion when changing the volume while music was playing. I never felt like any sounds were being lost (the bass on these things was better than my computer speakers.) These certainly aren't for intercom systems if you're building a home entertainment system, they'll be much to your liking.

    PROS: Work without any necessary setup, other than wiring setup.
    Include clip-able plugs, so no soldering required.
    Sounds great for the musical enthusiast.

    CONS: Difficult for novices to set up if they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.
    Wire spots could have bigger clips.

    Excellent sounding speakers, easy to install. Sound better than my JBLs that were twice the price. Highly recommended for the price!
