High Performance Portable Speaker
Get great quality sound and solid bass response with this High Performance Portable Speaker from Monoprice!
This speaker is designed for performance, durability, and style. It features a built-in rechargeable battery so it is ready to rock whenever you're on the road. It comes with an attached 3.5 mm stereo plug on the end of a 3 3/4" cord, which wraps into a groove on the bottom. A pass-through 3.5 mm jack allows multiple units to be daisy chained for room-filling sound!
When closed the speaker measures about 2 3/4" square at the base and about 1 3/4" tall. When opened, it extends to about 2 3/8" tall. The controls are embedded into the red trim on the corners of the unit and consist of Power on/off, Volume +, and Volume -. There is a USB mini-B female port in the side of the base to connect to a USB power source for recharging the battery.
Tip: Build an excellent pocket-sized stereo speaker setup by pairing this High Performance Portable Speaker with the Mini Rechargeable Portable Speaker (Pair) (PID 8594). The two devices will complement each other well, providing rich, full-range musical reproduction with excellent stereo separation and placement.

Pros: Looks great
Cons: - cable to computer is too short
- Buttons are hard to push
- sound quality is not good
We bought 3 of these for cheap desktop computer speakers. The cable to connect to the computer is so short that it is laughable, as in maybe 4". They look really nice but they are also pretty quiet and the buttons are very very hard to push.

Thank you for your review on PID 8595. I am truly sorry to hear that these speakers are not working out for your setup. In case you would like to extend the length of the cable, our 3.5mm M/F extension cables can be seen here:
Or, if truly unsatisfied with the speakers, I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a refund as we offer a 30-day return policy with no restocking fee. However, S&H is non-refundable. Please let me know if you would like to proceed and I will get that started right away. My apologies again for the trouble and I hope this helps.

Pros: Small size. Decent Sound compared to phone speaker
Cons: Battery Life too short. Audio cable short
I find the battery life only last 4 to 5 hours on a full charge. I wish Monoprice would have listed the playing time for this speaker. I really wanted something that would last 8 to 10 hours. The sound is loud enough to provide music from my phone. The buttons were easy enough to use (power / volume up / volume down). The size is small so very easy to put into your jean pockets.

Tiny little thing

Cons: -no guts/power/volume
-hard to differentiate control in low light
Bought this to allow audiobooks from my mp3 player in my car, which is old enough to not have an aux cable/jack. :) Poor little thing just doesn't get quite loud enough to cover road noises. Works great for in the house where it's quieter, though. included "cable" thing is TINY, so I do suggest paying the extra $3 or so and getting a longer 3.5mm cable to allow easier control. Sound is fine, not especially rich, but a little louder then the phone alone.
