Wish it came with a diagram but it's easy enough to find one online. Inserts made wiring the plugs very easy and kept everything organized.

PROS: Easy to use. Love the inserts!

    CONS: none

    Life saver
After an hour of fighting with standard modular connectors without inserts, these helped me keep my sanity. I was real Leary about buying these because of the price, but I have yet to have any cables fail using these connectors. And all cables have certified and passed on first test. I would defiantly recommend these based on price alone.

    PROS: Price

    easy instalation

CONS: gold plating is not complete.

Works But Instructions Could Be Better
Other reviews state not everything received in shipment. I chatted with tech support and there are two pieces to each connector, jack and insert. Not 3 pieces that the other reviews indicate. There are a couple of small plastic triangle "wings" that clamp down on the cable.
One thing I did based on another review was to cut each pair of wires a little shorter before trying to put them into the insert. This made it a lot easier to work with, put two wires in and move on to the next two. Instead of trying to line up all 8 wires in the insert at once.

PROS: I am not a network person but I was able to install on the cables in my house.

CONS: I did a couple junk cables to test and after the 3rd jack I was able to get comfortable on how to connect.

    Pretty Good
Disclaimer: I don't work for Monoprice, nor am I affiliated with them in any way, but I saw these reviews and I felt like I had to chime in.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews on these connectors. I've bought and terminated over a hundred of these things and haven't had much of an issue (very occasional bad termination - to be expected with bulk purchases).

I think the difference between terminating for Cat 5e and Cat 6 really throws people off at first. The little piece you put the wires in is called a "load bar," and it's on most Cat 6 connectors I've seen to keep Cat 6 compliance. Search the web for how to terminate a Cat 6 connector and you will probably have a much easier time. Most bad connections I see are when people leave too much wire in the connector (don't cut the cable short enough). This is not necessary, and honestly it messes with the integrity of the cable. You need to push the load bar all the way down to the jacket, then cut and leave NO MORE than 0.25 inches of cable at the edge of the load bar that leads into the connector. I've gotten so fast at terminating these I prefer them over the older Cat 5e.

Also, I've seen some reviews about the cable losing connection when it jiggles. My guess is if this happens, you're probably not crimping long/hard enough. You need to really push the load bar up into the connector as you crimp, count to 3, then let it go. Any bad connections I've had have like that have all been fixed by just re-crimping the connector.

    My 2 cents...

    PROS: Inexpensive, very reliable

CONS: Very occasional bad termination - bad connector or my fault? Not sure

    Best Cat6 connectors
I love these. I don't understand how anyone can use the non-insert versions sold by other vendors. These things are the way to go. I've terminated hundreds of cables with these things... if it doesn't work then the problem is you, not these plugs (or you're using the stranded connectors with solid wire, or vice versa, then the problem is still you).

    PROS: Super easy to use.

    CONS: None.

    Love 'em!
The inserts make it virtually impossible to mess up. Get all the strands in the right order, slide insert over wires, place wires w/insert in place into plug & crimp. Have had only one bad out the 50 or so I did this past week & it looks like user error (Mine).

PROS: Easy to use, nearly fool-proof

CONS: can put the insert on upside down if not paying attention...

    Awesome!
These connectors work great. I find it almost easier to use this than Cat 5e connectors with Cat 5e Cable. I make network cables on a consistent basis and I find this very easy to use.

PROS: Can work with Cat5 cable just fine. Came with all parts.
