Ok, but clips don't work well

    Pros: cheap

Cons: they just don't "click" into place.

These ends are easy to thread and easy to crimp but they don't click into place tightly when plugging them into a switch or product which makes them really useless. I usually can bend the clip a little to make it lock into place a little better but this doesn't always work. Next time I'll purchase a higher quality clip and listen to the reviews.

Poor quality plugs that don't click after crimped

I use the Monoprice crimp tool (product 8139) and the retaining tab on the plug smooshes flat and won't click after being crimped. This seems to happen with every plug. I face the same issue with Cat6 plugs (product 7266).

With all these plugs, I always have to flare out the retaining tab by hand after crimping, so that it sticks out better and then the plug clicks and fits perfectly in the jack. Although this is a workaround, it also potentially makes the retaining tab weaker.

Other brand plugs from a local hardware store work without any issues. It seems like a design defect.

    Pros: Cheap

Cons: Retaining tab smooshes flat and won't click after being crimped

Not terrible for the price, but my Klein crimping tool and these connectors don't get along too well. If I squeeze the crimper together as hard as I'm used to for most connectors the retaining tab gets squeezed down and doesn't click into place, I've never had that happen to me before I used these monoprice connectors.

I do not think I'll be buying these again as they do feel *really* cheap and with how annoyingly easy it is to make the tab useless I don't see their price being worth it. I'll stick to the much, much higher quality (but of course more expensive) Ideal brand connectors I've used from Home Depot.

    Doesn't fit

    Cons: Doesn't fit

These connectors are really tight and we've had no success sliding any Cat 5e wires into the connector. It seems any cable with thicker gauge or insulation does not work. Maybe this is only for 28AWG cable?

Thank you for your review on PID 7246. These connectors should be working with thicker gauges as well such as 24AWG. Just to verify, are the wires themselves not fitting or the cable jacketing? Was the cabling purchased from us? If so, what is the PID (Product ID) for the cable? If the cable was not ordered from us, do you happen to have a link to it? Otherwise, please provide me more details such as the gauge, solid or stranded, UTP or STP, etc. so we can look into this further. My apologies for any inconvenience and thank you in advance!

Its the wires that arn't fitting. I've tried 24 and 26AWG cable UTP of a few brands and none would fit. What did fit was a 24AWG solid core that appeared to have thinner insulation.

We've always been purchasing PID 180 without issues and still have a few of the from a previous order that fits all the cables of them just fine.

I see. I appreciate the additional info! If I may ask, were multiple plugs out of the 100 pack tried with the other brand cables? If so, did you experience this issue with all of the plugs tested? If you would like, I can assist you in obtaining a replacement pack to see if new ones will work out any better for you. Please let me know if you want to proceed and I will get that started right away. Thank you and I hope this helps!

I tried about 10 plugs and they were all impossible to get to the wires to slide in, whereas the PID 180 slid in easily. Looking at them side by side the wire opening is noticeably larger. The contact prongs also look like they're mean for solid core cable.

If you are able to send a replacement pack, that'd be great.

Pros: Standard RJ-45 solid plug. Where Mono Price has others beat is price and that is by a long shot. Only issue I had was the shipping and I have a feeling that was more UPS then Mono Price.
