Cons: Supplied RJ45 connectors Do NOT fit in routers, switches, etc.

The supplied RJ45 connectors do not fit in my routers, switches, or even a Monoprice inline coupler that I had.

RJ45 plugs are useless

Pros: None - a better crimper could be brought for about the same price, I only got it because it included a wire stripper. They should not bother including modular heads and instead give us an extra blade to use.

Cons: RJ45 plugs cannot plug into any modem/router!

Went to my parents house to do a project and used the modular RJ5 plugs that come with the crimper. The included RJ45 plugs were absolutely useless as they could not fit into any router or modem in the house. The heads seemed really cheap but damn at least make sure they fit into a outlet!

.I had to run out to home depot to buy some modular and it worked perfectly.

Hello Jon,

My apologies for the trouble you ran into with the rj45 plugs not fitting into your router/modem. If you like and this kit just isn't going to work for you I can issue an RMA for a return. I would just need an order number to get the process started. I will also contact our Product Management to review this item and to test for any necessary changes. Again my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I would like to clarify that the RJ45 plugs/jacks were fine. It's the crimper itself that seems to have a problem.

When I used the Monoprice crimper, I notice that I was unable to securely plug the crimped heads into a RJ45 jack. In essence the plug/jack would "click" into any RJ45 jack and would easily slip out. When I used a Home Depot purchased crimper, I did not have any problems crimping and securely plugging the heads into any RJ45 jack.

Pros: Both the Stripper and Crimper are very well built and effectively do what they are intended for.

Cons: Not really a con just a suggestion would be to have some CAT5/6 plugs come along with the kit in addition to the RJ45 plugs.

I used this tool kit to effectively wire my house with CAT6 using PID 7266.
