    HDMI® Over CAT5E / CAT6 Extender Wall Plate (Pair) - Single Port (1P) - White

The Monoprice HDMI® Extender can extend an HDMI® video signal up to 30 meters over two Cat6 ethernet cables run through the walls. This unit supports all NTSC and PAL video resolutions up to 1080p with 24/36 bit Deep Color. It supports LPCM, Dolby®-AC3, DTS 7.1, and DSD audio signals. This is a passive device, so no power adapter is needed!

    • Support High Speed HDMI® signals (1080p)
    • Supports Deep Color
    • Passive, no power adapter required
    • FCC and CE Approved

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI® cables when connecting a device, such as this extender, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.

Note: Although this extender will work with Cat5e UTP cables, Monoprice STRONGLY recommends using Cat6 STP cabling for anything longer than minimal distances. Cat6 STP cabling will provide the highest reliability and signal integrity to ensure that your installation is trouble-free under all conditions for years to come.

Good, but a problem or two
We're using this in my house to run all of our gaming systems through one port to a projector. The first major hurdle we ran into was that the PS4 didn't want to give power to it. So we had to buy a 1 to 2 HDMI splitter that was powered to fix that issue. After that it worked just great, but if I were doing the set up again from the beginning I would get one of Monoprice's HDMI extenders that has its own power supplies.

PROS: Great price and does work reasonably well

CONS: Some power problems with a couple of devices

    Not 1.4 compatible
The HDMI compatibility level is not listed in the specs, you have to open the instructions to read that part

    PROS: Easy install

    CONS: Does not support ARC

Very disappointed in this. It was purchased to replace one of a former model number that have been used for over four years and worked perfectly. It's only about a 25 foot run, so it was probably overkill from the beginning, but I wanted to avoid any problems with a long HDMI run. Unfortunately the receiving end of the original unit stopped working, so I was in need of a replacement. I purchased this unit and swapped it out with the using the existing cat6 lines, and it would not work. All troubleshooting done with Monoprice failed to solve the problem. I ended up replacing it with a 30 foot HDMI run that works great. Had to to return this unit. Very disappointed that the new units don't work as well as the older units. I have loved all products that I received from Monoprice up to this point, so this has been the exception for me. Still very disappointed.

    PROS: Great concept

    CONS: Didn't work

    Response from Monoprice
    Hi Mark,

My apologies for the inconvenient experience you have faced while using this HDMI extender wall plate. I will pass along this info to our product team so they can look into this matter further. We truly appreciate your time and feedback! I'm happy to hear the 30ft HDMI run is working great and please let me know if there is anything that I can assist you with!

    Hdmi over cat5e
I have used this unit in multiple installations perfectly. I find it HDMI is no good over 30 feet on many of the new TVs & components so I use this to do long runs. You need to run to cat 5e or use cat 6 for even longer runs. If you want to use the IR repeater get the other model that incorporates the IR repeating function in the wall plate

PROS: Works perfect in multiple installations to date
    Quality construction
    Easy to use

CONS: Rear of unit does not fit orange Carlton low voltage rework plate..use black larger one

I bought these for a project at work. I tested one at 150' with a DVD to a HDTV, there is no difference than using a 6' HDMI cable.

Be careful to keep both pieces of Cat5 or 6 the same length. I read that in a previous review and tried it with an extra 3 feet on 1 cable. There was a sync issue until I cut the 2 pieces equally and then it was beautiful again.

    PROS: Inexpensive
    It works

Works as advertised but mudring need to be specified
Purchased 20x sets of these for a large display project we were completing. Some runs were less than 50ft but once connected we saw display reporting 1080p/60MHz and the image was stable with no artifacting, shadowing, etc. Our project used PC as source image and know I tried an older DVD set top box and it would blink in/out which tech support said was due to the HDCP handshaking. Didn't matter since our source was PC.

PROS: Very inexpensive when buying Qty 20

CONS: 2 things - availability - we had to wait about 2 weeks for the item to become instock at Monoprice.
More critically was the size of the extender and it didn't fit in the orange Carlon remodel LV rings you can buy at Lowes/Depot. We ended up using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JQL0S8 Arlington brand LV rings and the extenders just fit inside the opening - so be warned.

    Love it!
Perfect for a living room setup. You can mount your TV on the wall with this plate behind it and run Cat6 over to another room or closet and put your PC in there.

PROS: Works great! I have been using this to drive my secondary display for

CONS: It sometimes loses signal and you have to either wiggle the ethernet/HDMI or just unplug/replug HDMI. Never had any ACTUAL problems with it.

Also it's big. Takes up an entire single-gang wall plate.
