5 PAIRS Of High-Quality Gold Plated Speaker Banana Plugs, Closed Screw Type

Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.

These high quality plugs are the closed screw type and can accept bare wire or spades. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

The plug body is made of brass, which is then plated with gold to help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth connections.

This multi-pack includes five pairs of plugs, perfect for connecting the satellite and center channel speakers in a 5.1 channel setup.

    • Can accept bare wire or spades
    • Can accept 12 to 18 AWG speaker wires
    • Color coded black/red rings for maintaining proper polarity
    • Secure, positive contact with binding posts
    • Corrosion resistant, 24K gold plated brass plug
    • Each order includes FIVE pairs (10 plugs total)

The following video shows the differences between the various types of banana plugs and includes a demonstration of how to install each type.

Pros: Easy to connect speaker wire.

Cons: Have to trim 12 GA wire to fit. Sometimes the connection is loose and has to be adjusted.

Good product. I have ordered more after my first order.

    Pros: Professionally engineered
Speaker wires clip in as promised
banana clips, clip into the amp correctly

    Cons: non

I went to three local supplier and ordered from one online with non achieving what they were suppose to. I ordered from Monoprice expecting for it to be wrong and delayed since I am in Canada. To my surprise the product is professionally engineered and it was at my door in just a few days.

Not a tight fit - can be fixed, though

    Pros: Price
    Overall product is good

Cons: Quality of contacts is not consistent...requires modification

I bought these to fit in Monoprice product 3326: Banana wallplate. For most of the banana plugs, the connection between the banana plug and the wallplate is loose where they fall out due to gravity. Inspection show the four tangs on each banana plug to be not spread apart enough and are too compressed so they don't contact the post properly. The quality of this component is not consistent. I took a small, flat-head screwdriver and on each banana plug, I wedged the screwdriver into each of the four tangs to spread them out more so that they grab more when connected into the post in the wallplate. After this modification, they work just fine.

Pros: cable path potentially less messy than perpendicular connectors

Cons: not a tight fit in connectors
cannot visually confirm wire makes good contact inside

I was unfamiliar with the "closed screw type" speaker connectors and am not a fan of this style. I will keep using them, maybe they will grow on me as I do like the idea of the wires coming in the center of the plug instead of perpendicular. The downside is not being able to visually confirm you have an excellect wire to plug contact.
The plugs did not fit as tight in the speaker/amp connector as I hoped but they shouldn't fall out.
