    7-Port USB 3.0 Combo HUB (3.0 x 4, 2.0 x 3) w/ AC Adapter - 12V/2.5A

Maintain SuperSpeed connectivity for all your external USB devices with this 7-port USB 3.0 Hub from Monoprice!

This hub features four USB 3.0 ports, which are capable of reaching speeds of up to 5.0 Gbps, while at the same time maintaining full backwards compatibility with USB 3.0/1.1/1.0 devices. It also features three USB 2.0 ports for connecting to older devices. It comes with a 12 VDC, 2.5A power supply, allowing it to provide the sufficient power for self-powered devices (e.g., 2.5" portable hard drives).

The hub measures only 5.5" wide, 1" high, and 3.2" deep. It features power and activity LEDs on the front, so you can always know the status of your connections. Two of the USB 3.0 ports are on the back and two are on top within easy reach. It uses a USB 3.0 micro-B connector for the connection from the computer, so it can only be connected to a USB 3.0 port.

Broke just after its year warranty...of course.

Pros: Great while it works. nice lights on the front. Decent power.

Cons: Too fragile. wish it was a little heavier so it would control the wires instead of the USB cables tilting the hub back.

I have had this hub for 2 months past a year and the top 2 USB 3.0 ports broke from the mother board. If you pull the USB forward it will connect. I am guessing that top 2 ports have disconnected from the main board. back ports still working. It sits on my desk all of the time, out of the way. So it doesn't get beat up at all. I guess the designer didn't take into account that we might put USBs in the top 2 ports. Silly me. For 35 bucks, I expected more. Still like Monoprice though just wish they wouldn't back some of the junk they have on their site.

Pros: When it worked it was great

Cons: When it didn't it wasn't

Worked for a couple of years and then died. When I took it apart I found that one of the chips had fried. Looks to be a design flaw.

Pros: 2 USB 3.0 ports on top, 2 in back, plus 3 USB 2.0 nice aesthetic design

Cons: ports only supported by solder joints

The input port broke, literally broke off the circuit board, rendering the hub useless... and I was careful with it! When it was working it was ok.

    USB 3.0 Input connector broke

Pros: you can use it as a rattle after it breaks.
worked mostly without disconnects but not universally.

    Cons: flimsy
minimal specs for the price. You can get 7 port USB 3.0 with more power for less money

I wanted to add my voice to chorus. The input connector snapped off pretty quickly. This must be a manufacturing flaw. I have never had a USB port on any hub every break. My guess is the cable acts as a lever internally and snaps the soldered connector.

    Uber Fragile

Pros: The form factor, size, and layout are all perfect. I love that the lights are kind of dim so they don't hurt my eyes.

Cons: It broke on day 2 of ownership. I had the audacity to bump it with my keyboard, which caused the input usb connector to apparently break off inside. Some jiggling would make it work a little, but even that failed after just a couple minutes.

Do not buy this if you intend to use it. The quality testers may have been able to be very careful with it, but in real life things wiggle.
