    7-Port USB 3.0 Combo HUB (3.0 x 4, 2.0 x 3) w/ AC Adapter - 12V/2.5A

Maintain SuperSpeed connectivity for all your external USB devices with this 7-port USB 3.0 Hub from Monoprice!

This hub features four USB 3.0 ports, which are capable of reaching speeds of up to 5.0 Gbps, while at the same time maintaining full backwards compatibility with USB 3.0/1.1/1.0 devices. It also features three USB 2.0 ports for connecting to older devices. It comes with a 12 VDC, 2.5A power supply, allowing it to provide the sufficient power for self-powered devices (e.g., 2.5" portable hard drives).

The hub measures only 5.5" wide, 1" high, and 3.2" deep. It features power and activity LEDs on the front, so you can always know the status of your connections. Two of the USB 3.0 ports are on the back and two are on top within easy reach. It uses a USB 3.0 micro-B connector for the connection from the computer, so it can only be connected to a USB 3.0 port.

    Disconnects itself

    Pros: Price

Cons: LEDs at the front are so dim, I don't even know they exist until I read some reviews.

I bought it for Lenovo YOGA 900. Connected an external WDC USB-3 hard drive, nothing else. It constantly disconnects and reconnects itself when it connected. If I connect the hard drive directly to my laptop, it is fine. So, I know it was USB hub's problem. Now, I can only put it on the shelf.

Pros: More forgiving than most USB 3.0 hubs

Cons: Wish it had 10 ports.

I have been hunting for a USB 3.0 hub for some time. One item I attach to a hub is Monoprice's Microscope [ 60x, 250x Digital Microscope with Suction Cup Stand and Observation Pad Product 11613]. It is a USB 2.0 device and has always worked fine, even directly attached to a USB 3.0 port on the PC. However, when I tried four USB 3.0 hubs, all caused a Windows 8.1 error that would not let the microscope connect. Well, this hub allowed it to connect on one of the USB 3.0 ports. No doubt it is a microcode problem in the other hubs, but this one works!

    Pros: looks nice

    Cons: falls apart internally

After about 2 years of light usage, the input port broke off the internal circuit board.

Broke just after its year warranty...of course.

Pros: Great while it works. nice lights on the front. Decent power.

Cons: Too fragile. wish it was a little heavier so it would control the wires instead of the USB cables tilting the hub back.

I have had this hub for 2 months past a year and the top 2 USB 3.0 ports broke from the mother board. If you pull the USB forward it will connect. I am guessing that top 2 ports have disconnected from the main board. back ports still working. It sits on my desk all of the time, out of the way. So it doesn't get beat up at all. I guess the designer didn't take into account that we might put USBs in the top 2 ports. Silly me. For 35 bucks, I expected more. Still like Monoprice though just wish they wouldn't back some of the junk they have on their site.

Pros: When it worked it was great

Cons: When it didn't it wasn't

Worked for a couple of years and then died. When I took it apart I found that one of the chips had fried. Looks to be a design flaw.
