USB is fine. Audio jacks are borderline useless now.

Pros: The USB ports work fine when using a USB key. That is all we tested them with.

Cons: The audio ports are almost useless. The jacks are somewhat recessed into the unit making them extremely sensitive. People are usually have to twist and turn their headphones in the port and then hold onto them to make it work.

The design for this product was slightly changed in the last year or two. It made the audio ports recess into the unit by a few mm. This design change has made the product useless to us. It was a cheap product before, but worked as expected. Now the audio ports barely work at all. Sadly we had installed these into 50 public stations as the old design worked fine. Now we are having to rip them out and likely drill different sized holes to replace everything as the new design has been broken for a year or two.

    A clever and useful device...

Pros: Clever design, adequately configured ports, easy to install and use. It was my experience that the plugs which attach to my laptop were positioned perfectly (Dell Inspiron), and I had ample room to plug in the audio/mic/USB connectors, all side-by-side without any problems.

Cons: Could use a USB 3.0 version, if it were available. There are no instructions as to what specifically goes where, so I'm only guessing that the second USB male connector is used to supplement additional power demands, as described in the product info, above.

Overall, this was a much needed and very useful accessory. I found it very helpful in my desk layout.

    Headphone jack is barely usable

Pros: - USB ports work to charge devices.
    - Good length cable

Cons: - audio cable barely works. Must be plugged in halfway to hear anything. Audible interference when a usb device is being charge while using headphones.

I was able to make it work, so for $5 it's not the best, but it beast paying a lot more to get these features from another device.

Pros: easy access to more USB ports

    Cons: Ports Loose
hard to find metric hole saw

I bought this to add USB ports to my new desk, so that I could have a few handy w/o having to put another peripheral on my desk (it's already crowded).

First thing I noticed that a non-metric hole saw isn't close enough I went too big (my fault) so it's shimmed in place with some cardboard. Make sure you either have holes already that size or can get a metric hole saw before buying.

My major complaint is that the USB ports are very loose!! I had to use a small screw driver to bend them in so that they would hold connection with my cables. I've had to adjust one or two at least one more time since. I can't recommend this based on this alone. I hope mine is a fluke (note, i have not tried to contact Monoprice to correct this yet.).
