Works well

Pros: It works well. I have only tried it with SD cards form my camera. No slow loading times.

Cons: The cord is very short, at just over 2.5 inches, but not a big deal

If you need an inexpensive SD card reader, this is for you. Works well, hope it lasts me through the rest of the year.

Works fine under Linux

Pros: Inexpensive
Seems to be USB standard compliant
works under Linux

Cons: none found

I needed a way to write to a micro-SD card to update a BeagleBone Black, and a replacement for an older unit which could write to low capacity SD but could not not write to cards over 4GB. This unit works fine for that, and was able to write to an 8GB card from both Windows and Linux.

Worked like a charm

Pros: I like that it has a short cord and I don't need to plug the body of reader itself into slot.

Worked just right. My old card reader didn't work and this was great replacement.

USB 2.0 Card Reader

Pros: Simple, solidly buit, no-frills

Cons: none at this time

I needed a card reader, as my older mid-tower case does not have any. This little unit does the trick! So far, the microSD slot is the only one I've used. It has a nice snug feel going in-no wiggle. The slots on this do not have the "click in-out" mechanism-the cards just go in a short way, smoothly. No problem for Win 7 installing this. Removable storage drive in My Computer only shows up when a card is inserted. I gave an "8" right now since I've not tried all the slots and it's early on. So far, so good.
