Excellent product, beware of gauge

Pros: Works as described, product is excellent quality.

Cons: The gauge of this cable is incredibly large. I'm running it into wall plates so I don't have connector stress, but trying to fish this through walls and floors is a challenge.

Highly recommended.

works great, the second time

Pros: high quality picture, great price

Cons: first cable failed after 1 hour of use

Unfortunately the first cable I purchased from Monoprice (same cable) failed after about 1 hour of use (and it was behind recently finished drywall). I replaced the failed cable with a new, same cable from Monoprice and it's working great. Monoprice is refunding my purchase price and shipping for the original cable, as expected. Looking forward to this cable continuing to work well for a long time.

Long High Speed Cable

Pros: It is a very long cable run that allows high speed connectivity

Cons: AV Receiver will not detect cable most of the time.

I purchased this cable to hook up a 3D projector to my receiver. At first I thought it was an issue with the receiver and then the projector but it was this cable. I swapped it out with a shorter cable high speed cable I purchased from Monoprice and it worked great. Everything is working but since I have a short cable my cable management looks horrible. Will be looking else where for a better cable for long HDMI runs that support high speed/3D

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 3990. If I may ask, what length and gauge (AWG) HDMI cables are you using between the source(s) and receiver? Have you tried swapping out those cables to see if the issue persisted? Were you able to test the cable with any other devices such as directly between a source (cable box, Bluray player, gaming console, etc.) to the projector instead of from the receiver? What about another display? Also, has this been an issue since you first received the cable? Please let me know so we can look into the issue further. Thank you!

Between the sources and the receiver are all 6ft 24 AWG cables. I have have replaced the 25ft cable with a 15ft and have not had any issues. Indeed I had plugged a source directly to the projector with the 25ft cable and it was not functional. At this time I thought there was an issue with the projector.

When attempting to get this cable to work I made sure the cable had plenty of support, as it is a heavy cable. I have everything mounted to where the cable has no strain and doesn't have to support anything. I did notice that the cable has VERY loose connectivity compared to other cables I have purchased from your site. I believe that is where the problem is. I will keep looking for a proper cable solution. I need a minimum 20 ft cable that can handle 3D.

Thank you for the response and extra info! Unfortunately, at this point it appears as though you may have received a defective cable. If you would like, I can help setup an RMA for a replacement. We offer a lifetime warranty for our cables and obtaining a replacement would be of no additional cost. If you wanted to proceed with the RMA, please let me know and I can get that started right away. Apologies for any inconvenience and hope this helps!

If you want to start an RMA that would be fine.

High quality, reasonable price

Pros: Heavy-duty, high quality

Well-made, thick insulation. I am not running this through a wall just connecting to projector from laptops for presentations, so it's probably overkill for my needs. But that's OK!

Passes 1080P 60hz.

Pros: Will pass 1920 x 1080p @ 60hz. Almost 4 years in use and no issues.

Cons: Thick and not flexible. But that's needed for a cable of this lengh. I would recomend port savers as to not put stress on the devices connections.

Using this cable from a Yamaha receiver in a closet, to a Samsung LCD on wall. There are port savers installed on both ends of the cable. This cable passes all signals up to 1920 x 1080p at 60hz. The receiver is doing all the audio / video switching. There are 3' cables from the sources to the Yamaha receiver.

I just installed a second one of these cables to hook up a gaming PC to the Yamaha receiver. There are also port savers added to this new cable. 25' hdmi to receiver and another 25' hdmi to tv. So with 50' of cable, these are no issues passing 1920 x 1080p @60hz from the PC.
The cable is thick and stiff. Be careful when unrolling the cable as to not kink it. Also, it won't make tight bends, keep that in mind while planning our routing.

Unfortunately, being stuck with this very poorly designed HDMI spec, we need very thick cables for long runs. Even then, it's always a gamble if the devices will talk to each other.
Overall, I am pleased with the performance of this cable. Highly recommend.
