    6ft 24AWG CL2 High Speed HDMI® to DVI Adapter Cable w / Net Jacket - Black

    *** !!! WARNING !!! ***

Note that this cable is NOT an ordinary HDMI® cable. This is specifically for connecting a device with an HDMI connector to another device equipped with a Single Link DVI-D connector, typically found on PCs, projectors, and older video equipment before the HDMI standard became widespread. These cables can NOT carry audio. They carry video signals only!

If you are looking for a High Speed HDMI Cable or a Standard HDMI Cable to connect equipment with HDMI connectors, please look at one of the following categories instead:

    *** !!! WARNING !!! ***

This HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable is capable of video performance equivalent to a High Speed HDMI Cable.

The CL2 rating on this cable indicates that its outer jacket has been designed to burn more slowly, thereby making it safe for use inside or through the walls of residential classed buildings. The CL2 rating ensures that your cable installation complies with fire safety codes and insurance requirements.

TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

The Net Jacket on this cable is an additional mesh jacket outside the normal cable jacket. It provides an additional layer of protection for the cable jacket to keep it safe from nicks and cuts that otherwise might penetrate the jacket and render the cable useless.

This cable is capable of the following HDMI video features:

    • 1080p Resolution - The High Speed HDMI Cable has sufficient bandwidth to transfer 1080p video signals between 1080p rated source and sink (display) devices.

    • 3D - 3D is the latest rage for both home theater and gaming. A High Speed HDMI Cable is capable of handling the high bandwidth requirements of 3D signals.

    • 4K - The 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels @ 24 Hz, which is four times that of a 1080p display and the same resolution used by state-of-the-art Digital Cinema systems. A High Speed HDMI Cable is capable of handling the high bandwidth required for 4K support.

    • Deep Color - The Deep Color feature provides a minimum of 8-bits per color element (24-bits total), providing for a total of over 16 million color variations. Other versions of Deep Color allow for up to 16-bits per element, for a total of 48-bits and over 281 trillion color variations, which really makes your video images come to life!

    • x.v.Color™ - x.v.Color is a promotion name given to the products that have the capability to realize a wide color space based on the xvYCC specifications and is a trademark of Sony Corporation. Currently, only AVCHD and Playstation 3 devices support x.v.Color.

I recently had the opportunity to test Monoprice HDMI cables with equipment
running at 1080p 60Hz with HDCP 148.5MHz The results were very positive.

Please note that success at 1080p depends on a lot of factors including quality
of TMDS transmitters, receivers, and anything you might have connected to the
cables like HDMI switches, repeaters, HDMI>DVD adapters, etc., therefore these
test results should be taken as a data point and not as a guarantee the cables
will be problem free @ 1080p with your specific equipment.

For example, during initial testing I had discovered through process of elimination
that one of the HDMI>DVI adapters I was using could not reliably pass 1080p. At
first I thought the cables were the issue, but after switching out the adapters, the
    cables worked great.

Also please note, even though some of these cables are listed as only 1080i certified,
they did nevertheless pass 1080p without issues for the equipment combination I used.
See this post for what was tested at the factory:
    http://www.avsforum.com/avsvb/show...4&&#post6953664

The process of listing a cable as passing visual inspection involved looking at black
screen for 30 seconds to detect sparkles, then watching video for 1 minute to detect
    additional artifacts.

Sharp LC45GX6U is a 1920x1080 LCD display which accepts 1080p and 1080p/hdcp when
devices are connected directly to the panel, bypassing the external video processor.

Hope you find this information useful.

    Pros: -it works

Cons: -might be too heavy duty (i.e. inflexible) for some uses

I purchased this cable to replace a USB to DVI adapter I was using for a third display with a MacBook Pro. This frees up a USB port and works as expected! In hindsight, I should have bought a lower profile cable - this one is bulky with a braided sleeve and not as flexible as I would like it to be. Maybe it will gain some flexibility with time...

Pros: good heavy duty cable. Works great

Cons: took way to long to get it I thought. Didn't pay for express ship but it took 2 weeks + to get delivered.

    will definitely shop here again

Pros: Price was the only pro.

Cons: 1. Cable is way too thick, like 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick.
    2. Too firm and hard to work with and fish it thru.
    3. DVI connector is way too bulky.

Recently I purchased a great Dell Ultrasharp monitor on sale, which had a DVI-D port, and no HDMI. My ASUS ROG motherboard had HDMI and no DVI-D. Therefore, I had to buy an adapter or a cable like this that would work, I bought both. When I went to connect this cable to my monitor and system, I ran into some issues. The cable was way too thick, like 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick, and was very firm to fish it thru the monitor opening and to work with. The DVI connector of this cable was so thick that when I went to connect it to the monitor, it was pushing pressure against the DVI connector of the monitor. I ended up using the adapter with a regular HDMI cable and did not use this cable. When I went to request a refund via monoprice website, there was no indication of who is going to pay the shipping to ship this back to. I got an automated email with a RMA mailing label, and it seems like I would need for pay for the shipping. I already paid for shipping to get the item, and to ship something that didn't work out back to them is equal to the cost of the item. I am better off to just thow the cable away than going thru the trouble of boxing it, shipping it, and then waiting for a refund.

Pros: Cable is long and feels sturdy, fit perfectly into the HDMI port on one end and the DVI port on the other.

Cons: Really, really thick cable. Fairly inflexible, and it feels like it's putting a lot of weight on the connector.

The braided finish on the cord is nice, but the cord itself is really thick and very heavy. Don't expect that you'll be coiling any remaining slack.
