    18inch SATA 6Gbps Cable w/Locking Latch - UV Blue

Each major revision of the Serial ATA interface specification has doubled the maximum data transfer rate. The latest SATA Revision 3.0 allows for data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps.

While the cables for all three revisions appear to be similar and will physically fit into the connectors on all SATA drives and controllers, the higher data transfer rate of SATA 6 Gbps requires higher quality materials and closer tolerances than the previous two revisions required.

Monoprice SATA 6 Gbps cables are certified to provide maximum speeds from your SATA system, up to 6 Gbps when used with equivalent devices and controllers.

Each end of this internal cable features a straight connector with an attached locking latch, to ensure that your connections do not come loose due to movement or vibration.

Note that SATA 6 Gbps cables are backwards compatible and can be used with SATA 3 Gbps and SATA 1.5 Gbps devices. However, the data transfer of the SATA subsystem will be limited to that of the slowest device. So, for example, if a SATA 6 Gbps cable is connected to a SATA 3 Gbps drive and a SATA 1.5 Gbps controller, the drive will be limited to a transfer rate of 1.5 Gbps.

    Pros: - Inexpensive
    - Metal clamp

Cons: - Stiffer than I expected
    - Relatively inexpensive looking

Nice cable based on their price. Could be more flexible and the exposed shielding looks somewhat tacky. Others may find it neat... Bottom line so far they work!

Pros: Colored cable to differentiate connected drives
Locking latch to prevent loose connection
Good length for any mid-size tower

Cons: Cable is a little stiff for twisting in right position, but doubt this will affect functionality

    Pros: Nice Quality
    Pretty Colour
    Easy Installation
    Good Price

Cons: Not as bright as I thought it would be

First I would like to say that this is a really good product. Especially for the price. But however, the shipping that I had to deal with was unbelievably unprofessional. It's not as bright as I thought it would be, but overall I am satisfied.

    Pros: Fit snug, look great!

    Cons: None

I have 3 XP computers running Sata2. Couldn't find any cables that fit snug enough not to come loose from the motherboard. Finally tried these and they not only fit nice and snug but the computer seems a bit faster now. Just bought some more to upgrade the other 2 computers.

Fits in tight SATA 3 spaces

Pros: SATA 3 RAID 0 setup works great with these cables!

Cons: Slightly easier installation using cables that don't lock into place.

Just wanted to write a quick review because I read a lot of early reviews claiming these don't fit correctly. I have an aging X58 mboard where the SATA inputs were in blocks of two right next to one another. I can say these cables DO FIT, when placed on top of one another. A little snugly because of the clips, but they do fit. Perhaps Monoprice changed the design. Whatever the case, don't worry about purchasing.

Also consider the placement of your drives. Do you want the cable pointing outward or straight down from the drive connection? Monoprice also sells right-angle connectors if you want the cables to point downward.
