    6ft 3.5mm Stereo Plug/Jack M/F Cable - Black

The 3.5mm (1/8") stereo TRS connector is more commonly known as the Headphone Jack on portable mp3 players and mobile phones. This cable features a male 3.5mm stereo (TRS) plug on one end and a female stereo (TRS) jack on the other end, each with molded connector housings and strain relief boots. The cable is ideal for extending the reach of a fixed length 3.5mm stereo cable, such as the cable on a pair of earphones.

    Connector is a little loose

Headphones I extend with this cable sometimes lose audio in a channel or the audio becomes muddy, and I have to fiddle with the connection to make it clear again. Said headphones aren't a problem with any other connectors or ports I've tried. Also, it can be difficult to seat a plug into the F end, but it might just need to get broken in?

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues experienced with PID 648. I see that you purchased two of these cables. If I may ask, are these issues happening with both of them? Also, does the issue persist with other sets of headphones?

    Hello,

I purchased 4 of these cables. Two are not getting a good connection at the female end, one is a little better, and one is working okay. I've tested with three different headphones and an aux cable to make sure it wasn't my equipment.

For an experiment, I used a pin to pry apart the two contact points in the connector, and the connection became much better. I'm not an engineer, so my assumptions may be wrong, but I think the problem is that the deeper contact point does not protrude enough, or maybe the tolerances of the receptacle shape are too loose and this allows the jack to lose connection with the deeper contact.

    Thank you,
    -Willy

Got it, thank you for the extra information. I missed the other order that had two additional cables. I will submit a complaint regarding the contacts for our product team to look into. For now, would you like me to setup an RMA to replace the three cables you were experiencing issues with? Obtaining the replacements would be of no additional cost to you.

No, that's alright, since I have found a way to make them work, but thank you.

    Pros: Heavy strong cable.

    Cons: None

Not much to say about a cable but it works for me and it was cheap.
Good heavy cable. Better than others on the market.

    Pros: None

Cons: cable left the warehouse without any quality check. .

My cable didn't work at all, Tried a few 3.5 headsets and they all get stuck on it. I managed to break my iPhone earbuds while trying to unplug it.

    Awful quality sound

    Pros: Cheap, durable.

    Cons: Sound quality is TERRIBLE

Plugged these in to replace a 3ft cable. The 3ft cable was also from monoprice and sounded fine.

A couple of days later, I found myself unsatisfied with the sound quality from my headphones and tried a coworkers, plugging into this same extension cable. The quality was still bad, and so I figured that his headphones were also bad (or my soundcard or streaming quality was bad). He recommended that I plug directly into my computer, at which point I instantly recognized that this cable simply produces terrible quality audio. Almost all 100hz frequencies sound like they are removed, and mids sound flat as heck. Blech.
