    1X2 Mini HDMI® Splitter w/ 3D support

Watch your video content on two displays at the same time using this 1x2 HDMI® Splitter from Monoprice!

This splitter features a small footprint, allowing it to be hidden behind your home theater equipment. It has a single HDMI input port and two HDMI output ports, each of which are gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections. The splitter draws all the power it needs from the HDMI connection itself. However, an external 5 VDC power supply can be used instead.

The splitter supports High Speed HDMI signals, which means that it supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p Resolution - It supports the full 1080p@60Hz HDMI resolution.
    • 3D Video - It supports all standard HDMI 3D modes.
    • Deep Color - It supports deep color up to 12-bits per channel, 36-bits total.
    • High Definition Audio - It supports high-definition multi-channel audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends using 22AWG, 24AWG, or active HDMI cables with Redmere technology to achieve the best results and to ensure minimum signal loss over longer distances.

    Pros: Very small
    Small power brick
    Sturdy
    Cheap

Cons: Can be tricky to set up
Image blanks out on both outputs when one is unplugged

Was surprised at how small the unit was. Built of metal, seems very sturdy.
Can be finicky with the order cables are plugged in.

Color Issues after a a while.

    • Ron Sissons,
    •  San Dimas, CA

Pros: Works good, when it works.

Cons: Issues with colors after long periods (3-4 hrs). Power cycle or disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable out of the splitter fixes the issue.

Worked fine when I first hooked it up, now in the middle of watching something the colors shift to reds and pinks. It's similar to a VGA cable missing some pins, or not connected tightly where colors are missing. That's the only way I can describe it.
If I disconnect the HDMI out of the splitter and reconnect it, or pull the power connection from the splitter and plug them back in, it starts working again for a while...then it happens again.

    Hello James,

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced with PID 8204. If I may ask, Does the unit show any signs of power? Also, may I ask what you are connecting to and from the splitter?
