1X2 Mini HDMI® Splitter w/ 3D support

Watch your video content on two displays at the same time using this 1x2 HDMI® Splitter from Monoprice!

This splitter features a small footprint, allowing it to be hidden behind your home theater equipment. It has a single HDMI input port and two HDMI output ports, each of which are gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections. The splitter draws all the power it needs from the HDMI connection itself. However, an external 5 VDC power supply can be used instead.

The splitter supports High Speed HDMI signals, which means that it supports the following HDMI features:

  • 1080p Resolution - It supports the full 1080p@60Hz HDMI resolution.
  • 3D Video - It supports all standard HDMI 3D modes.
  • Deep Color - It supports deep color up to 12-bits per channel, 36-bits total.
  • High Definition Audio - It supports high-definition multi-channel audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends using 22AWG, 24AWG, or active HDMI cables with Redmere technology to achieve the best results and to ensure minimum signal loss over longer distances.

Pros: Low price

Cons: Only worked for two days.

1X2 Mini HDMI Splitter w/ 3D support worked perfectly after I installed it. The problem is it only lasted for two days. I checked the power supply but it checked out OK. I then switched HDMI cables with no success. I am requesting a replacement RMA.

Pros: Small, compact, dumb simple to use, inexpensive

Cons: Dead after a year, runs hot (when it ran)

Simple to use, 3 HDMI ports and power. Had some HDMI handshaking issues, but generally worked well until it started flaking out within the first year. Should have replace it then but didn't think it was serious eventually the unit failed after ~18 months with no power. Unit is stone cold and no power light. Liked the unit and still need a 1x2 splitter but not sure what to get since other reviewers report similar longevity issues.

Works great with Dish and Charter...however...

Pros: Small and easy to keep in place on TV mount with double sided picture foam.

Cons: None

We are using two of these splitters, each with one cable box. We had Dish and it worked great. When we switched to Charter we had a problem with one of the splitters not transmitting the signal to both TVs.. The problem was with the signal from the HD Dual Tuner DVR (DCX3510-M). Solved the problem by switching the DVR/cable box to a TV without a splitter, and using a non-DVR cable box in its place. Everything is now working fine.

Additional Info: one of the splitters has output 2 connected to PID 4034 (40ft 22AWG CL2 standard HDMI). Second splitter has output 2 connected to PID 9171 ("Select Active Series High Speed HDMI Cable with RedMere Technology, 40 ft")

Pros: When it worked it was nice.

Cons: Didn't work after 2 uses.

1 TV in bedroom and q1 TV outside on patio. Signal comes thru cable box to splitter. 1 cable 4 ft. and 1 cable 50 ft. Worked fine when first hooked up, Was used twice in 1st week and worked, did not use for another week, when turned bedroom TV on no signal. Checked outside TV, no signal. Splitter no good, does not do what it was supposed to do.

Pros: Decent price.
Easy to setup

Cons: Tends to cut out or mess with the HDMI signal if used for long periods.
Gets a bit hot.

I have two of these and while they do work well they aren't always consistent. Occasional get screen distortions or not response from both units but a simple power cycle of the unit usually fixes them up.
I think of these as hook up and forget items but with these small problems you occasionally have to give them some attention.

Thank you for your review. Regarding the consistency issue, can you describe your setup including all devices and cables in use? What is the length and gauge of the cables? Are you running the cables in wall? Is there a receiver in your setup? Are you using the included adapter with the unit? Also, would you happen to have your order number? Please let me know so that I may further assist you. Thanks in advance!
