1X2 PRO Series Powered HDMI® Splitter with 3D support (Rev. 2.0)

Watch your video content on two displays at the same time using this 1x2 HDMI® Splitter from Monoprice!

This splitter features an internal amplifier, which boosts the HDMI signal and allows the use of longer than normal HDMI cable runs. The one HDMI input and two HDMI output ports are gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections. The splitter is powered by an included 5 VDC, 1A AC adapter.

The splitter supports High Speed HDMI signals, which means that it supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p Resolution - It supports the full 1080p@60Hz HDMI resolution.
    • 3D Video - It supports all standard HDMI 3D modes.
    • Deep Color - It supports deep color up to 12-bits per channel, 36-bits total.
    • High Definition Audio - It supports high-definition multi-channel audio signals, including Dolby TrueHD™ and DTS-HD Master Audio™.

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends using 22AWG, 24AWG, or active HDMI cables with Redmere technology to achieve the best results and to ensure minimum signal loss over longer distances.

Every time I use it, works like a charm. No reset needed so far and responds when the channels are changed.

    CONS: None so far.

    Vonnect DVI Monitor to HDMI
Plugged my older Dell DVI Montor into my newer Dell laptop with HDMI. No problems. Sharper image than with VGA.

I have a setup in my basement with one 47" lcd in the bar area along with an onkyo 7.1 surround system, cable box, and blu ray. I have another 47" in a sitting area around the corner. This splitter was perfect for me. I plug all the hdmi cables into the surround and the come out of the surround system and into the splitter and then to both tvs. One hdmi cable from the spitter is 40' long and the other is 8' long. Both picture and sound on both sets are perfect. A great device.

    works as advertised, recommended!
Yet another solution from Monoprice that just does what it is supposed to do.

We are fortunate enough to have both a flat panel and a projector in our family room, and for a while we were unplugging and plugging the respective cables to the back of the AV receiver depending on which we were planning to use. However, I was worried about the wear and tear on the socket, not to mention the difficulty of reaching behind the receiver.

This tiny box does precisely what it is supposed to do it couples the output of the AV receiver to both the flat panel and the projector at the same time.

I sort of expected that the HDCP would have some sort of glitch when I turned on the other display, but no such behavior occurred. If the flat panel is on and I turn on the projector, the display is uninterrupted on the flat panel. The same is true if the projector is on and I turn on the flat panel. Only if both display devices are off at the same time does the HDCP stuff kick in and degrade the output. There is a short delay for HDCP to renegotiate after turning one on, very similar to the delay of unplugging and plugging in the cable.

I've successfully passed 480i/60, 480p/24, 480p/60, 1080i/60 and 1080p/24 through this box. I don't have anything that generates 1080p/60 and I'm not sure my {older} AV receiver would even pass that, so I can't say if this box works there. But it works for everything I've tried.

The red power-on LED is pretty bright, but a bit of electrical tape makes short work of that. The wall-wart is pretty small but still just too large to allow the use of adjacent outlets in a power strip.

PROS: Works flawlessly to split the output of my Yamaha AV receiver 12 feet to a Sharp flat panel and 35 feet to an Epson projector.

CONS: This splitter seems a bit expensive when compared to Monoprice's own HDMI input switches, since you'd think the electronics would be similar and even the 5x1 switch is less expensive than this little box.

    Works flawlessly now!!
I purchased this HDMI splitter to correct an issue I was having with an older MonoPrice HDMI splitter - My setup is: HDMI Out from the PS3Splitter (out from splitter)HK AVR (out from splitter)Mits HD Display. Whenever the resolution changed from the PS3 the "handshake" between the older splitter and ALL my devices would produce loud static and need to be reset. This was not a big problem, but a major inconvenience. I purchased a different splitter from another Co. that produced the same effect...so I decided to go back to MonoPrice and try their newer Pro Series HDMI splitter...and I'm happy to report that the issue has been completely resolved!!! Thanks MonoPrice.

    Plug and Play
This is another Monoprice hit. I have yet to get a bad item.
This is a well built unit that just works. I plugged it in attached my HDMI cables and voila everything worked. The unit has a metal case and weighs enough to stay put. My picture looks fine and both TV's show no change in picture quality.

PROS: Metal case, nice size, works as expected.

    CONS: None
