Pros: The usb cross over appears in good condition.

The system did not power up when the power adapter was plugged in.

Thank you for the feedback. I've purchased products from monoprice before and was surprised by the hardware defect.

Life expectancy with any regular usage=2 years

Pros: Convenience if you need to frequently switch your keyboard and mouse between 2 computers (ex: home/work)

Cons: The switch components themselves used feel very inferior. The actuator that you press that makes contact with each of said cheap switches is just an inverted piece of plastic punched out from the outer shell. Over time it will bend and fail to make proper contact.

Bought this to use when I was working an overnight 12 hour shift from home 4 days a week to switch my kb and mouse between a regular PC and my docked work laptop. Over a 2 year period I would say the switches were probably pressed somewhere in the 50-100 times a week range. It started acting funny after about 2 years where sometimes the switches would not recognize the button press and require several firm pushes to "take". Other times the light would illuminate for the correct channel but the connected PC would report that "the USB device connected to the computer has failed". This is with or without the supplemental power supply connected. I unscrewed the 4 screws holding the outer case together and found the actuators are just a bent piece of plastic that over time starts to not fully make contact with the switches. Also, the switches themselves feel very cheap and one of them on my unit felt way "looser" than the other. As a result, now only the "A" channel functions with the "B" channel not even working on either 1 or 2. A previous reviewer (Dr. Dave) admitted he also had to replace his after 3 years but still gave it a 10. I guess people have different expectations out of their products.

Pros: size
seems well constructed
works without the power supply
two inputs and outputs

Cons: time will tell.

i used this to replace an old single in/4 out box that was really cheap and finicky. this one seems to be built more sturdy and worked out of the box without the power brick. i'm using it with my two desktops to switch back and forth and it's worked flawlessly so far. even works to wake up my main pc from sleep. monoprice is great for inexpensive items that work well and i'll continue to shop with them.

Just the Ticket!

Pros: The switch seems to work just fine. It's an old XP / new Mac Mini to printer / scanner hook-up. Hooking everything up was relatively painless. Thanks for giving me a chance to try it out before asking for a review.

Cons: The unit is very light. I use some double-face tape to keep it firmly in place.

Highly recommended.

Pros: May work in other applications.

Cons: Did not work in my application .

I requested tech's help in choosing a device to switch the output of one PC between two DAC's. This was the recommended but it did not work in this application. Returned for a refund.
