    Works but with issues

Pros: 4 Ports works as advertised.

Cons: Have to switch device off then on if changing ports or active HDMI device.

I bought this HDMI Switch because I was running out of HDMI ports for device on my TV. After doing a little research I went with this one as it had 4 ports and a stereo out. After about a month of use, the stereo out port no longer works. I know it does not work because I took the cable out and put it into my laptop with no issues. I also have to switch the device off when not in use. Have to turn in back on and sometimes have to switch to another port and then back to the one I am using.

    Works Wonderfully Except . . .

Pros: Easy hookup. All features work, except as noted.

Cons: Magenta tinted video and quarter screen apps from home theater pc.

All features appear to be performing as advertised. I'm happy except for one maddening detail. When I switch inputs from DirecTV receiver to my home theater pc, the video on my Sony plasma tv has a garish magenta tint and app windows are reduced to roughly one-quarter of full screen size. I can fix this by cycling power on the 5557 switch and manually setting the windows to full screen. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this with no luck. Help!

    Works (almost) as expected

Pros: Small size and works consistently.

Cons: Bright lights and doesn't support audio with more than 5.1 channels.

This little box is pretty great. Easy to set up, works consistently, and I'm pretty happy with it. I only have two issues with it: 1. As many have said already, the LEDs on the front are super bright. They will need to be covered with something. 2. It cannot pass through audio with more than 5.1 channels. I tried to watch The Martian in blu-ray, and I got no audio. As soon as I switched to a different language on the player, which only had stereo, the audio kicked right in. I had to run a separate cable from the SPDIF out on my blu-ray player to my receiver to get surround sound. Audio works fine with my other 3 devices attached to it.

    Failed a second time

I purchased this to replace an old hdmi switcher I had that didn't output separate audio. The first one worked for about 1 week before it stopped outputting video. The second one only worked 1 time before it stopped outputting video. It's not worth the trouble for me to keep sending this thing back. I'll just write it off as a $43 mistake.

    Correction: it DOES work

    Pros: See above

    Cons: See above

I wrote earlier that it failed to find any sound to send my amp. Since these little boxes don't tell you whether there's actually any audio signal, audio diagnosis was a pain. It turned out that because I was previously using optical audio direct from my BluRay player, audio was not going to the player's HDMI output. So cancel that bad rating.

Now fixed by telling the player to put audio back in the HDMI: it works. It still reverts to channel 1 on startup (annoying), the 3.5 mm stereo socket is inaccessibly close the the HDMI output,, and the main power light is loony bright (already taped over).. FYI, since I can't get a plug into the 3.5 mm output, I run the optical audio into a little Fosmon D/A converter box to convert it to 2-plug RCA stereo output.. Sound is very good and exactly in sync between audio (via Toslink + converter) and projector (HDMI picture goes via IOGear wireless HDMI link).
